Tragic accident on Hemus Motorway
The investigation into the serious collision between a bus and a truck that occurred on the Hemus Motorway in the direction of Sofia continues. One person lost their life in the crash, and another 16 were injured.
According to unconfirmed information, the incident occurred after the truck stopped in the emergency lane and the bus driver fell asleep at the wheel.
Condition of the injured
- Six people remain under medical observation in Sofia hospitals.
- A 69-year-old woman is in critical condition at St. Anna Hospital.
- Two men were admitted to St. Anna, and two others were placed in the Military Medical Academy (VMA).
Revelations about the drivers
Checks revealed shocking data about the two drivers:
- A total of nearly 80 traffic violations between the two.
- Repeatedly revoked driver's licenses.
- The truck driver tested positive for amphetamine and methamphetamine use.
