Celebration at Sofia University "St. Cyril and Methodius" for the Day of the Enlighteners

A celebration was held at Sofia University "St. Cyril and Methodius" on the occasion of the Day of the National Enlighteners. Students presented a recital and awards were presented in a competition. The event marked respect for the enlighteners.

On the eve of the Day of the National Enlighteners, the echo of the holiday dedicated to spirituality and knowledge resonated within the walls of Sofia University "Sts. Cyril and Methodius." The atmosphere was filled with anticipation as students, teachers, and guests took their seats, ready to celebrate the respect for those who have preserved and passed on the Bulgarian spirit through the centuries.

The festive program began with a performance by the vocal group, led by Mrs. Boyana Krusteva. She gave an inspiring greeting to all those present, filling the hall with a song dedicated to the national enlighteners. Afterwards, the stage lights illuminated the fifth graders from the 5.b class, led by Mrs. Filka Yancheva. They presented an emotional recital, reminding of the importance of the enlighteners, whose activity was key to preserving Bulgarian identity. The children's voices echoed, as if returning to times gone by and paying tribute to those who worked for enlightenment.

The school principal, Mrs. Dimitrina Shterionova, sent her greetings to all present, wishing them a wonderful holiday. She did not fail to express her pride in the successes achieved by the students and their teachers. There was a feeling of pride in the hall, palpable from the way Mrs. Shterionova spoke.

Among the official guests were Mr. Todor Damyanov, Deputy Mayor of Sozopol Municipality, and Mr. Stanimir Andonov, Chairman of the Municipal Council - Sozopol. They were ready to share the joy of the holiday.

The Culmination of the Celebration

The culmination of the celebration came with the awarding of the winners of the school competition. The competition, which covered the categories of recitation, essay and drawing, attracted nearly 40 participants. Each of them received a prize from the school principal, noting the diligence and talent of the students.

Mr. Todor Damyanov presented the awards to the students who took the top places. Desislava Rusinova from the 4th grade, Gergana Hrusova from the 2nd grade, Zlatomira Karadjova from the 6th grade, Ani Petkova from the 9.b class, Vanesa Lazarova from the 3.a class, Yoana Raykova from the 3.a class and Kalina Georgieva from the 3.a class were awarded.

Mr. Stanimir Andonov also had the honor of presenting an award. Yoana Raykova from the 3.a class was awarded the distinction of the Municipal Council - Sozopol.

The participants deserved recognition for their hard work, talent and love for the Bulgarian word. The holiday turned into a source of true inspiration, proving that the work of the national enlighteners continues to live in the hearts of young people.

The festive event ended with the song "Where is Bulgaria", performed by Krisia Milkova from the 6th grade. Krisia's voice filled the hall, creating a final note of patriotism and reminding of the values that the Day of the National Enlighteners symbolizes.
