Two of the leading Bulgarian dance couples, representing the "Burgas" ballroom dance club, returned with three medals from the traditional international tournament in Moldova.

The tournament has been held annually for over 40 years and holds a unique status akin to a Balkan Games in ballroom dancing, as the strongest couples from the Balkans gather in Chisinau.

The young prospects from Burgas, Yulian Ganev and Antoniya Georgieva, clinched gold in standard dances and silver in Latin dances, competing against nearly thirty pairs.

The children are the number one pair of the BFST (Bulgarian Folk Dance Federation) in the under-11 age category, having reached the highest level last year at the most prestigious world tournament - the German Open Championship.

Their older teammates from the "Burgas" club, Iliya Zelyamov and Aleksa Mechkova, fought for a place on the podium in a new and much more competitive category - junior boys/girls in Latin American dances.

The representatives of Burgas entered dance history just 2 years ago when they became the first Bulgarian couple to return with two gold medals from Stuttgart. The bronze medal from Moldova adds to their collection of trophies.

The management of KST "Burgas" expresses special gratitude to the Municipality of Burgas for their constant support.
