A Historic Event: Relics of St. George Arrive in the Sliven Diocese
On the occasion of the patronal feast of the St. George the Victorious Monastery in Pomorie, believers will have the unique opportunity to venerate the holy relics of the great martyr. The relic is arriving in Bulgaria at the invitation of Metropolitan Arseniy of Sliven.
The relics will be brought by Archimandrite Ignatiy, abbot of the "Holy Virgin – Joy of All Who Sorrow" Monastery in Palaiochori.
Schedule of the Veneration:
- Pomorie: From May 5 to 7 at the St. George the Victorious Monastery.
- Sliven: From May 7 to 9 at the St. Demetrius of Thessaloniki Cathedral.
- Yambol: On May 9.
- Burgas: On May 10 and 11 at the St. Cyril and Methodius Cathedral.
This event is of exceptional importance for Orthodox Christians in the region, providing an opportunity for prayer and spiritual strengthening before the power of the saint.
