This Sunday, in the early morning hours, from 09:00, in the heart of Burgas, a hierarchical holy liturgy will be served in the church "St. John of Rila". The Sliven Metropolia announced the upcoming service, which will be headed by the Sliven Metropolitan Arseniy himself.

On October 19th, the Orthodox Church honors St. John of Rila the Miracle Worker, venerated as the heavenly protector of the Bulgarian people, as well as all Bulgarian doctors. On this day, the feast is also celebrated by the Burgas church itself, bearing the name of the saint.

Next to the church, in the early morning, residents gathered. The ringing of the bells echoed over the city, calling the faithful to prayer and humility.

The church "St. John of Rila" in Burgas is a testament to the strong faith and unity of the local community, as it was built entirely thanks to donations from citizens, church councils, and various unions. The history of the church began in the distant 1928, when a committee was created for the construction of a chapel in the neighborhood "Alexander-Georgiev". This neighborhood is named after Alexander Georgiev Kodjakafaliyata, the man who gave the idea and the opportunity to build a neighborhood for the poor, and later the church itself.
