Students from different universities gathered in front of Sofia University „St. Kliment Ohridski“ to protest against the „mafia“. The event is organized by the Facebook group "Students against the mafia".
Alexander Tanev, a student at Sofia University, stated that the protesters want a state governed by law and fair elections. Alexander Ivanov, also a student at Sofia University, emphasized that the protest is against corruption.
The protesters are expected to join the protest of „We Continue the Change“ on „Independence“ Square.
Earlier today, students protested in front of NATFA (National Academy for Theatre and Film Arts) and blocked G.S.Rakovski St.
There is an increased police presence in the area and traffic is restricted.
The Sofia Directorate of Internal Affairs (SDVR) is planning 19 checkpoints in connection with the protest, and the police will assist in removing provocateurs.
From 6:00 PM, the movement of vehicles on „Moskovska“ St., „Georgi Benkovski“ St. and „Budapest“ St. is prohibited.
