A final tribute to a valued professional
The Sofia Municipal Council (SMC) began its extraordinary session with a minute of silence in memory of municipal councilor Milka Hristova, who passed away at the end of July.
"She left an indelible mark as a long-time municipal councilor and deputy chair of the Sofia Municipal Council, establishing herself as an example of integrity, high professionalism, and unwavering civic stance," stated the chairman of the SMC, Tsvetomir Petrov.
Who was Milka Hristova?
Milka Hristova was a key figure in local government in Sofia, serving three consecutive terms between 2011 and 2023 for the "BSP for Bulgaria" group. During the years 2015–2023, she held the responsible position of deputy chair of the SMC.

Vice President Iliana Iotova also expressed her sincere condolences, describing Hristova as a "great woman" and a "true comrade," whose loss leaves a great void in society.
