Stefani Stoeva and Gabriela Stoeva won the women's doubles title at the European Badminton Championships in the Spanish city of Huelva.

The top-seeded sisters defeated Bengisu Ercetin and Nazlican Inci (Turkey) in the final with a score of 21:11, 21:17 in 40 minutes and defended their first place from last year.

The Bulgarians completely dominated the first game. The second part was more contested, but after 17:16 they made a strong series and closed the match with their second match point.

Stefani Stoeva and Gabriela Stoeva, who train under the guidance of Petya Nedelcheva, played in their seventh consecutive European Championship final and won their fifth title. They have a total of seven medals - five gold and two silver, and they are also two-time champions from the European Games.

"The feeling is incredible. Our first title was here and now the fifth. It's great that there were so many people in the hall," said Stefani Stoeva after the match.

"We were a little nervous, which is normal because it's the final. But we are happy and satisfied with our performance," added her sister Gabriela.

The two are the most successful athletes in history, and in addition to their successes in Europe, they have fifth place at the Olympic Games in Paris 2024 and at the World Championships in the French capital last year.
