Norway qualified for the 1/4-finals of the World Cup after a dramatic 2-1 success over one of the major favorites, "Brazil". The Scandinavians recorded their first appearance at this stage of the tournament in history, and the hero is once again "Erling Haaland".

Early pressure from "Seleção" and a missed penalty

From the very first minutes, "Seleção" imposed a high tempo and created several clear chances. In the 14th minute, "Bruno Guimarães" had a chance to open the scoring from a penalty, but his shot missed the target. Goalkeeper "Ørjan Nyland" was brilliant between the sticks and kept Norway in the game with a series of saves.

A Haaland brace at the end turned everything around

The decisive outcome came in the final minutes. In the 80th minute, "Erling Haaland" slipped behind the defense and coolly opened the scoring, and ten minutes later – in the 90th minute – he was in the right place again to double Norway's lead.

The goalscorer now has "7 goals" in the tournament and cements his status as the leading scorer of the championship.

A late goal by Neymar was not enough

In added time, Brazil finally found a goal. In the "10th minute" of stoppage time, "Neymar" converted a penalty, reviving hopes for a miracle at the end. However, time ran out for a full comeback, and the Norwegians held on for the historic success.

Historic moment for Norway, Brazil fails against this opponent once again

Brazil remains winless against this opponent in history, and Norway records its greatest success at a World Cup finals to date. In the 1/4-finals, the "Vikings" will await the winner of the match between "Mexico" and "England", as Haaland and company have already proven that they can overcome even the biggest favorites.
