Ombudsman Velislava Delcheva arrived at "Dondukov" 2 for a meeting with President Iliana Iotova within the framework of the constitutional procedure for appointing a caretaker government. Iotova greeted her at the entrance of the presidential institution. The meeting between the two will be closed. The Ombudsman is one of the possible candidates for caretaker prime minister, as stipulated in the Constitution.
Later today, a meeting between President Iotova and Deputy Ombudsman Maria Filipova is scheduled.
Today is the third day of Iliana Iotova's meetings with potential caretaker prime ministers. So far, only the Deputy Governor of the Bulgarian National Bank (BNB), Andrey Gyurov, has expressed willingness to take the position, while the others have refused. On Tuesday, Iotova met with the Speaker of Parliament Raya Nazaryan, and yesterday with the Governor and Deputy Governors of the BNB.
