A total of five voting machines in the Burgas region have been taken out of service due to technical malfunctions, BTA was informed by the Regional Election Commission (REC) - Burgas. They are located in Burgas, Pomorie, Malko Tarnovo and Aitos.

The commission pointed out that the situation is not extraordinary and such cases are within normal limits. This represents about 1% of all the devices we have, said the REC - Burgas.

In a section in the municipality of Malko Tarnovo, a problem was detected with the printing of the receipts, in which the voters' votes were not correctly visualized. A similar malfunction was also reported in a section in the municipality of Pomorie, where incorrect printing and lack of reflection of the cast vote were also found.

This type of problem was also registered in a section in the municipality of Burgas, where the machine gave a defect related to the issuing of receipts.

Additionally, two more cases of technical problems were found - in section № 020400305 in Burgas and in section № 020100001 in the municipality of Aitos. In both cases, it is a matter of a fault in the printer of the machine voting device, and in the Burgas section the malfunction was not fixed despite the intervention of a technician. The Regional Election Commission in Burgas decided to discontinue machine voting in these sections. The available quantities of paper ballots are sufficient to ensure the normal conduct of the election process in the region, the REC added.
