Sports Lottery to Support Sporting Events in Burgas with BGN 50,000

Burgas Municipality and the Bulgarian Sports Lottery signed a partnership agreement, providing support for sporting and cultural events in the city. The total amount of support is BGN 50,000 for 2026, including the "Athlete of the Year" ceremony and the Burgas Marathon.

Burgas Municipality Mayor Dimitar Nikolov and the Executive Director of the State Enterprise “Bulgarian Sports Totalizator” Lyubomir Petrov signed a partnership agreement to support events in the field of sports and culture.

According to the document, the Bulgarian Sports Totalizator will provide 25,564.59 € /50,000 BGN/ for the organization of several major sporting events in 2026. The “Athlete of the Year” ceremony of Burgas Municipality, which will be held at the end of January, will also be supported with 10,000 BGN. Among the initiatives that will also be supported is the next edition of the Burgas Marathon, which has established itself in just two consecutive editions.

“Thank you for your assistance and support. We are partners, tested over time. That's why I am sure that together we will continue to develop sports and culture in Burgas,” said Mayor Dimitar Nikolov.

“This agreement is part of our strategy to support cities that are actively developing sports and hosting many sporting events,” said the representative of the Bulgarian Sports Totalizator, Lyubomir Petrov.

The representatives of the Bulgarian Sports Totalizator emphasized that the support for municipalities and significant causes is part of the organization's mission and expressed confidence in the joint work with Burgas Municipality.

At the meeting, it also became clear that the Sports Totalizator has been a general partner of Arena Toto Beach Burgas since 2025, as well as of the largest beach volleyball festival in the country, which this year marks its 10th anniversary. The possibility of expanding the presence of the Sports Totalizator through new points and the introduction of modern self-service machines in large sports facilities was also discussed.

The signed agreement confirms the good cooperation between the Municipality and the Bulgarian Sports Totalizator and lays the foundation for future joint initiatives for the benefit of the sports community and the citizens of Burgas.

The signing was also attended by the Deputy Mayor for Sports and Tourism in Burgas Municipality, Manol Todorov, and the regional director of the Bulgarian Sports Totalizator, Zlatko Zlatanov.
