The National Assembly is addressing President Rumen Radev's proposal to hold a national referendum with a question regarding the introduction of the euro in 2026. The absence of a representative from the presidency provokes discontent and pauses in the sessions.
The Speaker of Parliament, Raya Nazaryan, emphasizes that the presidential institution has been notified of the debates since the morning, but no representative appears. MPs from "Morality, Unity, Honor" and "Revival" insist on breaks in order to find someone from the presidency to present the motives.
After the resumption of the session, it becomes clear that no one from the presidency has responded to attempts to make contact. The chairman notes that the motives have been publicly available since May. Krasimira Katincharova from "Velichie" wants a third break, but again without success.
On May 23, President Radev notified the Constitutional Court regarding the refusal of the former Speaker of Parliament, Natalia Kiselova, to consider the proposal. The CC admits part of the President's request.
Kostadin Kostadinov from "Revival" categorically supports the referendum.
