In Sozopol, in the middle of the day, the police detained a woman after a road accident and subsequent fleeing. The woman, who refused to provide a sample for chemical analysis, was detained.
The incident happened on October 24th, around 1:40 PM, on "Yani Popov" street №2 in Sozopol. The car, driven by a 37-year-old woman from Sozopol, caused an incident with material damage. Instead of staying at the scene, the woman left the scene. The police managed to stop the car with an audio and light signal in front of house №34 on "Odessa" street.
Testing for alcohol and drugs followed. It was established that the woman was driving after consuming alcohol, with a concentration of 2.65 per mille. However, the second sample was negative. Despite this, the woman refused to provide a blood sample for chemical analysis. She was detained with a police detention order for up to 24 hours. A fast-track proceeding has been initiated in the case.
Similar charges led to the detention of three more drivers in the following days.
On October 25th, in the Regional Police Department – Sungurlare, a fast-track proceeding was initiated against a 66-year-old man from Karnobat. He was detained for driving a motor vehicle after consuming alcohol, with a concentration of 2.08 per mille, around 2:47 PM in the village of Valchin. The driver was detained for up to 24 hours, and his car was seized.
On October 26th, around 10:30 AM, in the area of "Vinitsata" in Sveti Vlas, officers from the Regional Police Department – Nessebar stopped a "Honda" car with Burgas registration for inspection. The car was driven by a 63-year-old American citizen, born in Russia. It was established that the man was driving after consuming alcohol, with a concentration of 1.92 per mille. The driver refused to give biological samples for chemical analysis. He was detained with a detention order for up to 24 hours. A fast-track proceeding has been initiated in the case.
