Sozopol council has appealed to the Central Election Commission (CIK) against an order from the Burgas regional election commission (RIK) to remove an electronic ad display carrying campaign material, RIK chair Georgi Mihov said. Sozopol's mayor filed the appeal.
Today, on election day, the commission told the mayor to take down the display next to the polling station on Apolonia street at once.

"We said it must be removed, but Sozopol council has appealed and says the distance is greater," Mihov told Bulgarian National Radio (BNR). The regional commission is waiting for the CIK to rule.
Mihov said voting in the Burgas area is going calmly. Three voting machines have stopped working in the region, and most complaints are about campaigning.
Unlike in past elections, there has been no big change in the membership of polling station commissions. He linked this to a Supreme Administrative Court ruling that sets out the conditions under which members can be replaced.
The Burgas commission expects to finish processing the election documents by 2am.
