Prime Minister Rumen Radev revealed massive deficits and questionable contracts for basic activities within the ministries. Public disclosure of the schemes for draining the budget is forthcoming.

Radev on the budget gap and corrupt practices

The caretaker government is facing a serious challenge – the uncovering of massive budget deficits and systemic financial abuses. Prime Minister Rumen Radev announced that audits in the ministries are revealing contracts with absurdly high amounts for elementary services.

"Fantastic contracts are emerging for absolutely elementary activity that has been valued and for which huge funds have been paid. And this is not one contract, this is a system."

According to the Prime Minister, the main priority is the disclosure of these unpaid commitments in order to prepare an objective and structured state budget. Cases affecting various departments, including the Ministry of Regional Development, will be presented publicly to the media.
