Thursday will be sunny along the Black Sea coast, though a strong north wind will blow for a time. Forecasters say highs will reach 9 to 11 degrees. The coast will see more sun than on Wednesday.
Rain overnight into Thursday will die down and stop. Showers will linger only in some places in the west and centre. The clouds will break up during the day, and the sun will come out in many places. Western Bulgaria's mountains will see light rain.
The wind will be light almost everywhere, and moderate only in the east. It will now blow from the northwest. Lows will range from 3 to 8 degrees, with about 7 in Sofia. Highs will run from 6 degrees in the northeast to 14 in the southwest.
A strong northeast wind will hit the mountains, and the sky will be mostly cloudy. Most of the rain will fall in the ranges of western Bulgaria. Snow will fall on higher ground, where daytime temperatures will stay below zero.
Friday, Saturday and Sunday will be mostly sunny, with fog before noon. Mornings will be much colder, and temperatures will drop below zero in most areas. Daytime temperatures will barely change, staying between 8 and 13 degrees.
Across the Balkans, cloud will thin over most of the peninsula, with light showers in the centre and south. More heavy rain is expected in southern France and on the islands of Corsica and Sardinia. Eastern Spain and northwestern Italy will also see rain. A broad area of high pressure covers the rest of Europe, bringing plenty of sun and morning fog.
On Monday cloud will increase again, with light rain mainly in western Bulgaria.
