Sunny Beach resort will host a Tourism Business Forum on September 15. The event is being organized for the first time in Bulgaria at the initiative of the Association of Incoming Agencies, Melia Sunny Beach hotel, and Fraport, with the support of the Ministry of Tourism, and will bring together representatives of the tourism business, institutions, and media from both countries.
"Poland is a strategic market for Bulgarian tourism, and we want to turn good results into concrete partnerships. Bulgaria can offer Polish tourists much more than a traditional seaside vacation – cultural, spa, wine, gastronomic, urban, nature, and event tourism throughout the year," said Minister of Tourism Ilin Dimitrov.
In 2026, our country ranked fifth in the Polish market. According to data from the Ministry of Tourism, organized trips saw a growth from 5.5 to 6.9 percent, while dynamic packaging increased by 7.5 percent. The institution's goal is for the number of Polish tourists in Bulgaria to reach 800,000 annually by 2029.
The forum's program includes discussions on the tourism potential of both countries, travel trends among Poles, tourism guarantee mechanisms in Poland, as well as Poland's experience with Michelin. Meetings between Bulgarian tourism service providers and Polish tour operators are planned, with a focus on preparations for the 2027 season.
The need to strengthen cooperation was also discussed on July 14 during a meeting between Minister Ilin Dimitrov and the Charge d'Affaires of the Embassy of Poland in Bulgaria, Anna Janishewská-Fronczek. "The Polish market is developing extremely well, and we want to turn this sustainable growth into even more year-round travel between the two countries," Minister Dimitrov added at the time.
