The Deputy Chairperson of the Bulgarian National Audit Office, Silvia Kadreva, met with President Iliana Yotova within the framework of the constitutional procedure for appointing a caretaker government. After the conversation with the head of state, Kadreva commented to the media whether she agreed to be a caretaker Prime Minister.
“I stated that I do not shy away from responsibility. I clearly told the President – yes, I accept.”
Earlier today, after a meeting with President Iliana Yotova, the Chairman of the Bulgarian National Audit Office, Dimitar Glavchev, announced that he is ready to take the post of caretaker Prime Minister. His deputy, Margarita Nikolova, is also willing to take this position.
So far, the Deputy Ombudsman Maria Filipova and the Deputy Governor of the BNB, Andrey Gyurov, have also declared their readiness to take the post. The remaining officials who appeared earlier this week at "Dondukov" 2, declined the position.
After the consultations are completed today, the President must decide who to hand the mandate to form a caretaker government. The date for the early parliamentary elections depends on the signing of the decree for its appointment, and they must be held within two months.
