Strong wind in Bulgaria caused material damage in 26 regions. NIMH (National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology) issued a "yellow code" for tomorrow. The fire department handled 159 calls. No injuries reported.

Strong winds caused material damage in a total of 26 regions in the country, the General Directorate "Fire Safety and Protection of the Population" announced. A "yellow code" for strong winds has been issued for tomorrow for a large part of the country. People are warned to be careful of flying objects.

For today, an "orange code" is in effect for a strong northwesterly wind in 12 regions. The fire department warned people not to stay outdoors due to the danger of falling objects.

From 00:00 to 17:45, the fire department teams handled 159 calls. Signals for material damage were reported in Montana, Vratsa, Pleven, Veliko Tarnovo, Gabrovo, Lovech, Sliven, Sofia, Pazardzhik, Plovdiv, Blagoevgrad, Pernik, Burgas, Varna, Dobrich, Kardzhali, Kyustendil, Razgrad, Ruse, Silistra, Smolyan, Stara Zagora, Targovishte, Haskovo, Shumen, Yambol.

A wind with a speed of 70 km/h blew in Montana. In Pazardzhik there are many reports of fallen trees. Over 30 calls were received in Panagyurishte. Nearly 20 calls were received in Plovdiv. Teams also responded in Sofia and Karlovo.
