Shumen 61 Advances to Bulgarian Handball Cup Final After Victory Over Spartak Varna

Shumen 61 defeated Spartak Varna with a score of 22:20 and qualified for the final of the Bulgarian Handball Cup for men. The final will be against Lokomotiv Gorna Oryahovitsa.

Shumen 61 qualified for the final of the Bulgarian Handball Cup for men, after defeating Spartak Varna in the second semi-final in "Arena Shumen" with 22:20 (11:13)

The guests started the match more actively and led for most of the first half. Shortly before the end, Shumen managed to equalize for 11:11. Two unanswered goals followed for the Varna team, and seconds before the end of the half, the hosts missed a goal, with the ball hitting the post.

Shumen started the second half more mobilized, managed to erase their deficit and took the lead for the first time in the match shortly before the eighth minute of the second half. Dramatic minutes followed, with the score being goal for goal, with equalizations. Often Shumen led, but only with a goal or two ahead. In the 27:40 minute of the second half, a penalty was awarded and realized for Spartak and the score was again equalized – 20:20. In the remaining minutes of the match, the team of Shumen 61 managed to score two unanswered goals and qualify for the final of the Bulgarian Handball Cup for men.

We achieved a very difficult victory. The most important thing is that we managed to qualify for the final match for the Bulgarian Cup, commented to a BTA reporter from the staff of Shumen. 

Shumen 61 will play against Lokomotiv Gorna Oryahovitsa in the final match for the Bulgarian Handball Cup for men in the "Arena Shumen" hall tomorrow at 13:00. Earlier today, Lokomotiv Gorna Oryahovitsa dethroned Fregata and qualified for the final of the Bulgarian Handball Cup for men. 

The teams of Spartak Varna and Fregata will play a match for third place in the tournament in "Arena Shumen" from 10:30.
