Shipka is a fortress of Bulgarian memory, and it is impervious to any current affairs, to any division, and to any hatred. This was stated in her celebratory speech on the occasion of the national holiday by the President, Iliana Iotova.

According to her words, on the third of March, we open and read some of the most important pages from our centuries-old history.

These are pages of statehood, in which we read about a new Bulgaria being born, resurrected from oblivion and martyrdom, added Iotova. She emphasized that these are pages that unite the people, that make us stand proudly today before the Bulgarian tricolor and with deep gratitude and respect to say that the heroes are not forgotten, and we will bow before all the bright images of Bulgarian freedom.

The President also pointed out that on the third of March and throughout August, everyone flocks to the proud and unyielding peak of Shipka and takes their children and grandchildren to pass on to them the sacred Bulgarian memory.
