A passenger in Turkey received a four-year and two-month prison sentence for an inappropriate joke about a "suicide bomber" on board a plane in Istanbul. The woman was traveling with her sister on a domestic flight with AJet.

Upon boarding, she told the stewardess that her sister was a "kamikaze."

The joke caused an evacuation, a search, and a 3-hour delay to the flight.

The two sisters were detained but later released, being included in the airline's "blacklist" for one year.

The court imposed a sentence of 4 years and two months in prison. The airline will file a claim for compensation.
