The position of the SGP regarding the "ViK – Burgas" case
The Sofia City Prosecutor's Office (SGP) has officially announced that there is no evidence of criminal acts falling under its jurisdiction, including those committed by individuals with constitutional immunity.
"The Sofia City Prosecutor's Office carries out its activities solely on the basis of the law, in compliance with the principles of objectivity, impartiality, and independence," the institution stated.
Why was the case transferred?
- On July 16, 2026, the materials were sent to the District Prosecutor's Office – Burgas in accordance with Art. 35 and Art. 36 of the Criminal Procedure Code.
- The company is registered in Burgas, and the alleged damages and acts were committed on the territory of Burgas and Pomorie.
The decision comes after a statement by Prime Minister Rumen Radev, who accused the prosecutor's office of attempting to shift responsibility for the case, despite the presence of data regarding individuals with immunity.
