Radev to the Prosecutor's Office: Do not hinder justice
Our society has long been awaiting justice and retribution for the plunder, but for this to happen, the Prosecutor's Office must at least not stand in the way. With these words, Prime Minister Rumen Radev began today's cabinet meeting.
The more actively the Ministry of Interior and the services work to uncover major corruption schemes, the more the Prosecutor's Office obstructs their work.
The Prime Minister emphasized that the institution that should guarantee the rule of law often acts as a brake on the efforts of investigative bodies.
The ViK Burgas case: An example of "crushing" a case
Radev gave a specific example of the lack of effectiveness in the judicial system:
- Arrest of ViK Burgas employees, carried out at the beginning of the month.
- At the moment, the pre-trial proceeding is practically "hanging."
- Fears of attempts to "crush" the investigation.
The Prime Minister is adamant that such actions undermine trust in institutions and public expectations for fair retribution.
