The chairmen of the Financial Supervision Commission (FSC) of Bulgaria, Vasil Golemanski, and of the Montenegrin supervisory authority CMA, Željko Drinčić, discussed the state of the capital markets in Bulgaria and Montenegro in Sofia.
The main conclusion was the need for greater interconnectedness of the markets for the development of issuers and attracting investors.
A memorandum of cooperation was signed between the two regulators.
Vasil Golemanski emphasized Bulgaria's support for Montenegro's European perspective, as well as the importance of deepening cooperation in the integration of capital markets. Željko Drinčić expressed high appreciation for Bulgaria's experience as a member of the EU and the Eurozone, underlining the importance of the FSC's assistance.
The possibility of issuing government securities for individual investors through the stock exchange was also discussed, presenting the experience of Croatia and the strategy of the Bulgarian government. Željko Drinčić noted the positives of such an initiative, both for citizens and for the capital market.
