Doctors at the capital's Pirogov hospital continue to fight a hard battle for the life of the 4-year-old child who was hit by an ATV in the Sunny Beach resort. The young patient, identified as Martin, is in the Clinic of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care, where his condition remains serious and he is in a coma.
The boy's dramatic transport took place yesterday, when around 2:30 p.m. he was transferred by medical helicopter from Burgas to Sofia. The air ambulance landed on the specially designated pad at St. Ekaterina hospital, after which an Emergency Aid team immediately transported him to Pirogov. The transfer operation was performed with maximum speed and precision, as every moment was of importance to his fragile life.
The incident that shocked the public
The incident that shocked the public happened in the middle of the month. At the time of the unfortunate accident, the child was with his 35-year-old mother, Hristina, who was also hit by the ATV. Unfortunately, according to medical sources, the young woman is in a state of brain death, which makes the tragedy a double blow for the family.
The situation in the intensive care unit is extremely tense, with the medical team making every effort to stabilize Martin's condition and give him a chance for recovery. The case again raises questions about the safety of pedestrians in busy resort areas and the control over the movement of attraction vehicles, which often move indiscriminately, endangering the lives of tourists and their children.
