US envoy Steve Witkoff will meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and European leaders in Berlin. This was reported by AFP, citing a White House official.

Donald Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, will also participate in the meeting, Reuters reported, citing an American official, BTA adds.

The decision to send Witkoff, who leads the negotiations with Ukraine and Russia regarding the American peace proposal, underscores the growing urgency for Washington to overcome the remaining disagreements with Kyiv on the terms of the plan, Reuters noted.

That is, Trump is sending Witkoff so that Zelensky cannot stray from the line drawn in the negotiations with the US. And to try to present things only in his own interest to the Europeans. And Kushner is present to specify American (and the Trump family's) business interests.

French President Emmanuel Macron, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz are also "invited" to the meeting (imperatively), as reported by the "Wall Street Journal."

On Thursday, the White House said that Trump would send an official representative to the meeting only if he judged that there was a chance of progress in the peace talks.

US President Donald Trump is "extremely disappointed" with Ukraine and Russia, said White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt. She is quoted by Agence France-Presse.

Leavitt emphasized that Trump already wants to see action regarding ending the war. According to her, Trump is tired of meetings for their own sake. "He doesn't want words anymore. He wants action. He wants this war to end," she said.
