Three people have died and at least 26 have been injured in a wave of Russian drone and missile strikes on Kyiv, Ukrainian authorities report.
Mayor Vitali Klitschko described the strikes, which caused explosions and fires in residential buildings throughout the city, as "massive".
Kyiv's energy infrastructure has also been damaged, leaving some buildings in the northeastern part without heating, he said. The Ukrainian Air Force announced that several other regions in the country were also subjected to strikes.
The Russian Ministry of Defense said it had shot down or intercepted 216 Ukrainian drones that were targeting its industrial sites and disrupting air traffic, reports Reuters news agency.
