Kyiv
A 46-year-old woman was killed in the Desnianskyi district, and 13 people aged between 19 and 59 were injured, including two paramedics from an ambulance crew. National police say another person, a 22-year-old man, was hurt in the Obolonskyi district.
Missiles also fell on the grounds of an educational institution. A university building, dormitories and nearby apartment blocks were damaged, and a car was hit near a metro station. Mayor Vitali Klitschko said that in the first hours nine of the injured were taken to hospital, and most of the casualties were students from a dormitory.
In the Podilskyi district an administrative building was hit, and non-residential buildings were damaged at two more addresses. The State Emergency Service says a three-storey non-residential building in the Dniprovskyi district was partly destroyed, from the roof down to the basement. Investigators and bomb disposal experts are working at the sites of the strikes, recording what they call another war crime.

The Pivdennyi Bridge and the metro
The Pivdennyi Bridge in Kyiv was also hit. The road surface, the crash barriers and metro equipment were damaged. Traffic on the bridge has stopped while specialists assess the damage.
On the metro, trains on the red line run between Akademmistechko and Lisova, and on the green line between Syrets and Vydubychi. Trains have stopped running between Osokorky and Chervony Khutir. All stations are open and serve as shelters during air raid alerts. Late last night there was also damage between Darnytsia and Chernihivska and at the exits of Lisova, and the metro worked all night to keep trains moving. The city added buses on routes between the left and right banks.
Missiles and drones across Ukraine
Russia fired Iskander-M and S-400 ballistic missiles from the Bryansk region and 280 Shahed attack drones, 69 of them jet-powered. Gerbera drones and Parodiya decoy drones were launched as well. They came from the directions of Oryol, Millerovo, Kursk, Shatalovo and Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia, as well as from occupied Donetsk and from Gvardeiskoye in occupied Crimea.
By 9:00, air defences had shot down or jammed 257 targets, including two ballistic missiles and 255 drones. Even so, strikes were recorded at 25 locations, and debris fell at 16 more.
Russia has been waging a full-scale war against Ukraine since February 2022.
