President Rumen Radev stated on Bulgarian National Television that he will create a party after the elections. He emphasized that it is currently not possible to register a formation to participate in the upcoming elections due to legal deadlines.
Radev defined the dismantling of the oligarchic governance model as the main goal for Bulgaria. According to him, this model hinders economic development and undermines statehood. He pointed out that he and his team are working on a program to cut off the access of the oligarchy to state administration and public resources.
In the context of the war in Ukraine, Radev stated that his assessment is based on his expert military experience and strategic training at the US military academy. He reiterated his position on Crimea as part of Ukraine according to international law, but also pointed out the reality that Crimea is part of Russia.
Radev expressed his desire to see Bulgaria as a free, democratic, and modern European state and emphasized that he will work towards this.
