Election officials in Burgas have removed the chair of a polling station in the village of Izgrev, Tsarevo municipality, after a tip that he had been drinking.
The tip came by phone. It said the man was already under the influence of alcohol when the station's staff were driven to the polling station.
The Regional Election Commission (REC) in Burgas checked and found that his behaviour was somewhat odd and that he showed no interest in the voting. He brought alcohol into the polling station. He answered questions, but his speech was slurred, like that of a drunk person.
The commission cancelled his certificate and appointed a new chair. His deputy was also replaced.
