The Regional Election Commission (REC) - Burgas will be formed with 17 members, with the Central Election Commission determining the chairman and secretary. Today, the regional governor of Burgas, Vladimir Krumov, held consultations with political parties and coalitions to determine the composition of the commission for holding the elections for Members of Parliament on April 19 this year.
However, after a discussion, no agreement was reached regarding the choice of chairman and secretary. In this situation, the Central Election Commission will determine the leadership positions of REC - Burgas.
The total number of REC members is 17. The right to participate in the composition is held by GERB-SDS - 5 members; coalition "We Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria" - 3 members; party "Vazrazhdane" - 2 members; coalition "Movement for Rights and Freedoms - New Beginning" - 2 members; coalition "BSP - United Left" - 1 member; party "There Is Such a People" - 1 member; coalition "Alliance for Rights and Freedoms" - 1 member; party "MECH" - 1 member; party "Velichie" - 1 member.
Fani Semerdzhieva from GERB-SDS and Ivan Ivanov from "Vazrazhdane" were nominated for chairman of REC Burgas. Georgi Mihov from "We Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria" was elected secretary of the commission, with proposals for this position also made by "Movement for Rights and Freedoms - New Beginning" - Natali Hristova, and "Alliance for Rights and Freedoms" - Dzhema Myumyunova.
There were two proposals for deputy chairmen - Margarita Sъbeva from "There Is Such a People" and Lyubima Burgazlieva from "BSP - United Left". The parties and coalitions united for REC - Burgas to have four deputy chairmen.
