The Pomorie Municipality has initiated a large-scale experimental project to transform the waste management system, covering the Freedom district with an innovative "door-to-door" approach.

The key innovation consists of introducing gray 40-liter bags equipped with individual RFID labels, which allow precise tracking of waste generated by each household. Specialized vehicles with built-in readers will collect real-time information about the number of discarded bags.

The system introduces the "pay as you throw" principle, removing old containers and establishing strictly regulated zones for different types of waste. Only non-recyclable waste will be disposed of in the gray bags, while special marked containers are provided for paper, plastic, metal, glass, and biodegradable waste.

The new containers have controlled access through electronic chips, with additional video surveillance planned. The goal is to ensure that only residents of the respective neighborhood will use the designated facilities and prevent uncontrolled waste disposal.

Separately collected waste will be transported to the respective recycling points without additional payment from citizens or the municipality. Alongside technical implementation, demonstration meetings were held with households on the proper use of the new ecological facilities.

A mobile application will provide current information to registered users about collection schedules, separate disposal locations, waste generation quantities, used bags, and remaining balances.

The necessary materials will be distributed free of charge to households by neighborhood leaders, whose contact information is publicly available on information boards.
