A New Vision for Inclusive Education
Members of Parliament and experts discussed large-scale changes to the Preschool and School Education Act. The main goal is to create a more flexible and accessible environment that places the child at the center of the educational process.
"Institutions must be centered around the child and their parents, not the other way around," emphasized Denitsa Sacheva from GERB-UDF.
Key highlights of the bill:
- Early intervention: A focus on early childhood development as the foundation for a successful learning process.
- System integration: Social services will be provided directly within the buildings of schools and kindergartens to make things easier for parents.
- Mediation: Introduction of mechanisms for resolving conflicts between parents and educational institutions.
- Support for teachers: Expanding opportunities for qualification and professional development, as well as increasing the number of specialists on teams.
Political forces united around the idea that the topic of inclusive education is non-partisan and requires prompt and constructive action. It is expected that the proposals will be discussed in detail by the Parliamentary Committee on Education and Science.
