The "Road Infrastructure" Agency (RIA) announced important repair works on the "Hemus" highway, which will take place in mid-August. According to the agency's official announcement, on August 14, 15, and 18, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, roadside vegetation will be removed in the section between the 49th and 48th kilometer in the direction of Sofia.
These activities are part of the regular maintenance of the highway and are essential for traffic safety. RIA emphasizes that the work will be carried out only on weekdays, with no ongoing activities on the highway during weekends.
To carry out the tasks, the necessary equipment will be gradually positioned in the emergency lane of the highway in the section located in the Sofia region. This means that traffic will be redirected to the active and fast lanes, requiring increased attention from drivers.
In light of these circumstances, RIA makes a special appeal to all road users.
We appeal to drivers to drive carefully, to follow the rules and speed limits, not to undertake risky overtaking that endangers the safety of all other travelers, the agency's statement says.
Experts from RIA remind that following these recommendations is critical not only for the personal safety of drivers but also for the security of workers carrying out the repair activities, as well as for all other road users.
To assist citizens and transport companies, RIA provides several channels for information about the current road conditions. All interested parties can obtain up-to-date information from the agency's official website - www.api.bg. In addition, a 24-hour telephone line is available at 0700 130 20, where information can be obtained at any time of the day or night.
These information measures are part of RIA's overall strategy to improve road safety and ensure smooth traffic on key road arteries in the country. The agency urges all road users to regularly check for updates and plan their trips according to the announced repair works.
