Bulgaria remains steadfast in its categorical position on the independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders, said the Speaker of the National Assembly, Raya Nazaryan, at a meeting with the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Ruslan Stefanchuk. This was reported by the press center of the National Assembly.

The Speaker of the Parliament is on a visit to Ukraine to participate in the second parliamentary Summit in Bucha. Earlier, she made a statement at the forum organized by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

At the meeting, she stated that our country's support will continue for as long as necessary, within our capabilities. Bulgaria's solidarity and empathy with Ukraine and the Ukrainian people was confirmed in seven separate decisions of the National Assembly, added the Speaker of Parliament.

The illegal, full-scale war must end with a comprehensive, just, and lasting peace, based on international law, Nazaryan pointed out. Bulgaria welcomes all efforts aimed at ensuring a lasting peaceful solution based on the principle - nothing concerning Ukraine should be decided without Ukraine, she added.

The Speaker of the Parliament noted that joint efforts can be expanded to encompass the long-term recovery and reconstruction of Ukraine, including infrastructure development and the economic recovery of the country.

Nazaryan recalled that in humanitarian terms, Bulgaria is providing significant assistance to people temporarily displaced from Ukraine. 197,580 people have been granted the right to temporary protection, of whom 61,000 have settled in Bulgaria, she pointed out. Ukrainian students enrolled in Bulgarian schools during the current school year are 5379, Nazaryan added.

Earlier today, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine welcomed the Speaker of the National Assembly, Raya Nazaryan, in Kyiv for her participation in the second parliamentary Summit in Bucha.

Nazaryan, along with the participants in the second parliamentary Summit in Ukraine, honored the memory of the victims of the Bucha massacre at a commemorative ceremony at the St. Andrew's Church.
