Radostin Vasilev, chairman of “Moral, Unity, Honor” (MECH), stated that the only possible candidate for caretaker prime minister is the deputy governor of the Bulgarian National Bank (BNB), Andrey Gyurov, due to his independence from Peevski and Borisov.
Vasilev announced that MECH will no longer participate in the consultations, considering them meaningless. He accused Iliana Yotova of deliberately protracting the procedure, likely with the aim of giving Rumen Radev the opportunity to create a party.
Vasilev expressed skepticism regarding Yotova's ability to conduct an impartial campaign, emphasizing her connections with individuals associated with State Security and with individuals like Kiril Dobrev, whom he defined as “the liquidator of BSP and a representative of Delyan Peevski in BSP”.
According to Vasilev, Iliana Yotova, along with the mayor of Sofia Vasil Terziev and former chairmen of the democratic community, should have been deprived of the opportunity to hold such positions.
