The head of state Rumen Radev issued a sharp criticism of the current government, revealing a massive plan to sell off strategic state territories. During an official ceremony in Varna, the president emphasized the danger of the upcoming regulations.

"The government of Peevski and Borisov is preparing the largest sale mechanism since the 90s," Radev was categorical. He pointed out that the amendments to the State Property Act were deliberately pushed through just before the vacation season, which further increases suspicions of a covert operation.

The president emphasized that the deal affects 4,400 state properties, including those along the Black Sea coast and the state border. "One wrong step leads to a series of mistakes," he warned, stressing that a narrow political circle will benefit from this sale, while the losses will be for the entire society.

Radev imposed a presidential veto on the changes, calling on the people's representatives to reconsider the legislative initiatives and protect the national interest.
