Radev and Osmani Discussed Western Balkans Integration

Presidents Radev and Osmani discussed the European integration of the Western Balkans at a forum in Saudi Arabia. The talks touched upon regional cooperation and the role of Kosovo. Support for the Bulgarian community was also discussed.

The presidents of Bulgaria and Kosovo, Rumen Radev and Vjosa Osmani, met within the framework of the ninth edition of the "Future Investment Initiative" forum in Saudi Arabia. Their talks focused on key topics from the agenda of regional cooperation and the process of European integration of the countries of the Western Balkans. This was announced by the press secretariat of the Bulgarian head of state.

The meeting took place against the backdrop of ongoing efforts to stabilize the region and strengthen ties between the countries of Southeast Europe. It is evident that the two presidents discussed the challenges and opportunities facing the region, emphasizing the importance of cooperation to achieve common goals.

President Radev stressed that Kosovo's unwavering striving to build stable institutions and deepen regional cooperation is in the interest not only of the countries of Southeast Europe, but also of the European Union. He expressed his belief that Kosovo's efforts deserve recognition and support. This position underlines the importance of supporting Kosovo's pro-European orientation and its role in regional stability.

The two leaders shared a common view that the progress of countries applying for EU membership should be assessed on the basis of their specific achievements and reforms carried out. President Radev noted the political and public consensus in Kosovo in support of the country's European integration, as well as the systematic actions of the institutions in this direction. Against the backdrop of Kosovo's European ambitions, President Radev emphasized the commitment of Kosovan society to European values and standards.

During the meeting, the Bulgarian head of state expressed his gratitude to President Osmani for her actions in support of the Bulgarian community in Kosovo and for its institutional inclusion. This underlines the importance of protecting minorities and strengthening bilateral relations.

In addition, in Riyadh, President Rumen Radev met with the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, Prince Mohammed bin Salman. During this meeting, President Radev renewed his invitation to the Prince to visit Bulgaria. This meeting reflects Bulgaria's aspiration to strengthen bilateral ties and promote dialogue with leading regional players.
