Experts from the regional administration in Varna region have inspected the condition of 12 riverbeds and gullies. The assessment, carried out by the specialists, has revealed a worrying picture.

The inspection showed that there is a potential danger due to the presence of overgrown vegetation in some of these waterways. This causes serious safety concerns.

A signal of a problem was received from "Port Varna-west". According to experts, the flooding of the terminal is a direct result of the deteriorated condition of certain gullies.

"This gully was built before 1995 and for more than 35 years no repair work has been carried out in this channel. There are places with compromised lining, sections, as there are signals from "Port Varna-west" that the terminal is being flooded. The channel itself is lined with concrete on both sides, the concrete is not visible at all, it needs to be cleaned to see the compromised sections, after which a complete design and repair should be made," said Milen Iliev, chief expert at the Regional Administration - Varna.

Mr. Iliev confirms the seriousness of the situation. Moreover, he emphasizes the need for urgent measures to prevent future incidents.

Local residents, gathered around the experts, are also present at the scene, anxiously observing the unfolding of events.
