Due to upcoming repair works, residents and guests of Burgas will have to adjust to a temporary change in the traffic organization, which will make it difficult to access the central parts of the city. The Municipality of Burgas announced that large-scale works on the water and sewage network require the complete closure of a key intersection for a significant period of time.

Details of the repair

According to the official announcement, which was distributed by the municipal administration, the repair works will start on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, exactly at 11:00 AM. The initial implementation of the new traffic scheme will be accompanied by an active presence of traffic police and municipal employees who will direct traffic and ensure unhindered access to the surrounding areas. The closure will affect the intersection of "Debelt" street with "Alexander Stamboliyski" street and will last for two weeks. This period may be extended depending on the progress of the repair works and unforeseen circumstances.

Why is the closure necessary?

The measure is necessary due to the need for urgent repair works on the water and sewage network, which are of essential importance for improving the infrastructure and water supply in the area. The Municipality urges all drivers to comply with the temporarily introduced traffic organization and to use the designated detours.

The increased repair activity causes dissatisfaction among residents, who see it as a serious challenge for their daily commute. Such projects often lead to traffic jams, especially during peak hours, which requires significant patience from citizens. The municipality reminds that the closure is temporary and is of essential importance for the long-term improvement of the condition of the road network and underground communications.
