Weather forecast for May: Cold start, snow in the mountains and hot days

A forecaster from NIMS announced the forecast for May: temperatures between 0 and 35 degrees, precipitation and snow in the mountains are expected.

What to expect in Bulgaria in May?

According to the forecast from the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH), the month of May will be diverse, starting with a relatively cold period but ending with warmer days.

Anastasia Kirilova, a synoptician at NIMH, reported that the lowest temperatures in May will be between 0 and 5 degrees, while in some regions they may even reach minus 2 or minus 3 degrees.

The average monthly temperature is expected to be around or above normal (between 16 and 19 degrees in most of the country). Regarding precipitation, it will be within the normal range – between 50 and 70 liters per sq. m in the lower parts of the country.
