The main problem facing the integrity of the electoral process in the Burgas region is the activation of the criminal element regarding vote buying, said the co-chairman of "Yes, Bulgaria" Ivaylo Mirchev at a briefing at the National Press Club of BTA in Burgas. He announced that earlier today he had a meeting with volunteers from the initiative "You Count" from different municipalities in the region. According to Mirchev, the country lacks functioning institutions, including the prosecutor's office, DANS (State Agency for National Security) and the Ministry of Interior, which puts the guarantee of fair elections in the hands of the citizens. He pointed out that this is why the "You Count" initiative is recruiting volunteers, with over 7,000 people currently participating in it.

Ivaylo Mirchev also announced that "Yes, Bulgaria" will submit a proposal to the National Assembly for a vote on a declaration, with which the parliament will call on the Supreme Judicial Council to vote for the resignation of the acting Chief Prosecutor Borislav Sarafov and to elect a new acting official. He stated that if this does not happen, a procedure for recalling members of the SJC from the parliamentary quota will be initiated.

In parallel with this, Mirchev emphasized that PP - DB insists on 100% machine voting in the upcoming elections and opposes the introduction of the so-called scanners, which, according to him, cannot be implemented within two months. He stated that paper voting creates conditions for manipulation and gave an example of unresolved cases related to preferences and ballots. In response to a question about a possible date for the elections, Mirchev said that the decision is entirely within the powers of the president and that he does not expect the vote to be held in the earliest possible deadlines. Regarding the talks for the lists, he stated that they have not yet begun and that the focus should not be on personal appointments, but on the battle for change in the country.
