"Port of Burgas" EAD is concluding the financial year 2025 with a positive financial result of 18,000 euros after deducting all expenses, including taxes and fees. This is the first reported profit after two consecutive years of losses, the company announced.
In 2023, the state operator recorded a loss of BGN 1,400,000, which was significantly reduced to BGN 488,000 in 2024, as a result of a consistently applied policy to stabilize the company.
Among the main measures that contributed to the improvement of the financial situation are optimization of the tariff policy by updating the prices of cargo handling and storage services, active dialogue with shippers in order to attract larger volumes of cargo, as well as effective cost management.
The management of the company managed to preserve jobs and at the same time guarantee high quality of the services provided, they announced from there.
The positive trend is also maintained in 2026. In the first three months of the year, "Port of Burgas" EAD reports a profit of 222,000 euros, while maintaining the pace of cargo handling from the previous year.
The annual financial report and the quarterly reports of "Port of Burgas" EAD are public and are available on the website of the Agency for Public Enterprises and Control.
