President Iliana Yotova issued an appeal to the nation regarding the upcoming early parliamentary elections on April 19, emphasizing the importance of citizen participation. She stressed that after the elections, it is necessary to work on solving the country's urgent problems.
Yotova recalled the protests, which demonstrated the strength of the citizens and the need for a functioning National Assembly and a government with capacity. She emphasized the importance of a budget "as soon as possible" and defined the elections as decisive for the future of Bulgaria.
The President called for ensuring the Bulgarian day with income, economy, education, and culture, pointing out the need for strong leaders and foreign policy. Yotova noted that the elections are the eighth in the last five years and emphasized the need to vote in order to oppose the purchased vote.
She concluded by emphasizing the importance of the personal vote and its independence from external influences, calling on citizens to vote for a prosperous Bulgaria.
