Burgas joins the international initiative dedicated to World Stroke Day, which is observed on October 29th. In our country, this insidious disease is emerging as a leading cause of death and permanent disability. Particularly alarming is the fact that more and more people of working age, including young people, are falling within the scope of this disease.

The symptoms of a stroke often come suddenly and have a devastating impact. However, knowing the signs and reacting quickly can be crucial for saving a human life. Each of us can be the one who recognizes the symptoms and takes the necessary action in time.

Let_q_s get acquainted with the key signs that can be recognized:

EVERY MINUTE COUNTS.

Stroke acts lightning fast. Our reaction must be just as fast. Every minute without adequate medical help leads to the death of millions of brain cells. Time is valuable not only for the recovery of the brain, but also for the fates of our loved ones. What is a stroke? It is a condition in which the blood supply to the brain is suddenly cut off. The lack of oxygen leads to the death of brain cells, which can affect speech, movement and the patient's general condition. Act immediately! Statistics show that two out of every three survivors suffer from long-term impairments. Timely reaction can not only save a life, but also preserve brain functions. Taking quick measures increases the chances of full recovery. Recognize the signs: The face - the smile droops. The hand - cannot be raised. The speech - the words are unclear. Call 112 immediately! Do not delay! Every minute counts. Remember: The stroke acts quickly. Your action must be faster. Life does not wait!
