The government has allocated over 14 million euros to three nationally funded programs under the Ministry of Education and Science (MES), according to the government press service. The funds will cover reported expenses for renovating student dormitories, constructing and repairing schools, kindergartens, and nurseries, as well as creating new sports areas and gymnasiums.

Within the student dormitory program, over 4 million euros are being provided for nine sites. Through renovation, modernization, and furnishing, more modern and favorable conditions are being created for students. To date, over 51 million euros have been paid out in this area; eight projects have been fully completed, while 32 projects are currently underway.

Over 5.7 million euros will support the modernization of sports facilities and children's physical activity through the Program for the Construction and Major Repair of Sports Grounds and Gymnasiums in State and Municipal Schools for 2024-2027. This funding will allow for the repair of existing facilities, as well as the remodeling or construction of entirely new sports spaces, with the overall measure covering 550 projects. So far, over 88 million euros have been allocated under this program, with 245 sports grounds and 69 gymnasiums already completed.

These national funds for renovating schools and sports facilities will also impact the conditions for education and sports in Burgas and the region.

Approximately 5 million euros have been approved for implementation under the Program for the Construction, Extension, Expansion, and Reconstruction of Nurseries, Kindergartens, and Schools for 2024-2027. These funds will support 22 projects across various regions of the country through the reconstruction and expansion of existing buildings or the construction of new wings, branches, and facilities. Currently, nearly 31 million euros have been paid out under the program, with six projects fully completed and 76 still in progress.
