The outgoing government will allocate an additional 1550 euros in aid to families affected by natural disasters in 2026. In this way, people whose properties were damaged by the hurricane-force winds in the first days of the new year will be supported, the cabinet press service announced.

For the payment of the funds, 200,000 euros have been provided in the budget of the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy. The aid will be in addition to the one-time assistance for overcoming accidentally arising needs, which is granted under the Social Assistance Act and amounts to up to 1172 euros.

The aid of 1550 euros will be received according to a list, which will be approved by the executive director of the Social Assistance Agency on the basis of applications submitted by the affected households. The one-time financial assistance will be paid out by the "Social Assistance" directorates at the current address.

Earlier today, at a briefing at the Council of Ministers, the outgoing Minister of Labor and Social Policy, Borislav Gutsanov, also announced that everyone affected by the disasters in Kardzhali, Krumovgrad, Kirkovo and the surrounding villages will receive an additional 1550 euros. This is our consistent policy. We approached it in the same way in the summer when there were fires and floods, the minister pointed out.
