From the opposition formation “We Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria” (WCC-DB) they announced that on Friday they will submit a vote of no confidence in the government because of its economic policy.
“The topic is the government's economic policy, because through it it brought so many people to protest. The budget was just the last drop of the wrong economic policy against the middle class and business.” This was said by the co-chair of the “Democratic Bulgaria” party “Yes, Bulgaria” Bozhidar Bozhanov.
The leader of MECH, Radostin Vasilev, announced that his formation will support the vote. “We will participate in the preparation of the motives and the defense of the no confidence in the “Zhelyazkov” cabinet together with WCC-DB,” he announced. Vasilev pointed out that if the vote had been for general policy, according to the initial expectations, MECH would not have supported it.
As early as Tuesday, the day after the multi-thousand protests, WCC-DB announced that they would submit a vote of no confidence against the cabinet. And they are organizing a new protest, which will be held on the day of the debates on the vote.
Although the date for submitting the vote is already clear, it is still unknown when the debates on it will be held. According to the parliamentary rules, the discussions on a no-confidence motion begin no earlier than three days and no later than 7 days after the submission of the proposal. Therefore, the specific date of the new protest has not yet been announced.
